JUNE 2019: OMEROS at the Gate Theatre

Elayce will direct Nobel Prize-winning poet Derek Walcott’s OMEROS at the Gate Theatre in May 2020, as part of the Gate’s 40th anniversary season. For more information, please visit the Gate’s website here.

JUNE 2019: IF NOT NOW, WHEN? at the National Theatre

Elayce will direct IF NOT NOW, WHEN? by Isabel Hague, the winner of the National Theatre’s New Views playwriting programme for 14-19 year olds. The winning play receives a professional production in the Dorfman Theatre at the NT, with performances on 1st and 2nd July. MAY 2019: NANJING at the Royal Court Theatre

NANJING by Jude Christian, which Elayce directed at Shakespeare’s Globe, the Royal Exchange Manchester and Birmingham Rep, will return to London in July/August 2020 for a run at the Royal Court Theatre. Tickets go on sale in October 2019. For more information, click here.


Elayce will assist Ted Huffman on A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM by Benjamin Britten at Opéra Orchestre national Montpellier. The production is conducted by Tito Muñoz and premieres in May 2019. For more information, click here.

February 2019: Young Vic MY ENGLAND short films

Elayce has directed SIMONE as part of the Young Vic’s MY ENGLAND film project that explores the question of what ‘Englishness’ means right now through a series of 14 filmed monologues. January 2019: DIE WALKÜRE

Elayce will assist Ted Huffman on the London Philharmonic Orchestra’s concert staging of Wagner’s DIE WALKÜRE at the Royal Festival Hall, conducted by Vladimir Jurowski. For more information and to book tickets, please visit the LPO website here.

November 2018: THE MAGIC FLUTE

Elayce will direct a Baylis Youth Project for the English National Opera in February 2019. Together with composer Hannah Conway, designer Cécile Trémolières and a company of 60 young participants, Elayce will create a piece of new work inspired by the ENO / Complicite production of Mozart’s THE MAGIC FLUTE. October 2018: NANJING on tour

NANJING will be touring in 2019: first playing at the CAN:Chinese Arts Now Festival in London on 31 January (more info & tickets here); then playing at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester from 27 February - 2 March (more info & tickets here); and at Birmingham Rep from 13 - 16 March (more info & tickets here).

June 2018: UNDER MILK WOOD at Northern Stage

May 2018: THE WAR OF THE WORLD at Northern Stage

April 2018: 4:48 PSYCHOSIS at the Lyric Hammersmith

Elayce will assist Ted Huffman on the revival of the Royal Opera House's production of Philip Venables' award-winning opera, 4:48 PSYCHOSIS. The production is inspired by Sarah Kane's final play of the same name and will play at the Lyric Hammersmith from 23 April - 4 May.

February 2018: NANJING at The Globe

NANJING, written and performed by Jude Christian, will be performed at Shakespeare's Globe as part of Refugee Week in June 2018. The production, originally directed by Elayce for The Yard's NOW '16 Festival, will be the premiere of a newly conceived staging, created specifically for the unique setting of the indoor, candlelit Sam Wanamaker Playhouse.

January 2018: THE WAR OF THE WORLDS at Northern Stage

The sold-out, 5* production of Laura Lindow's THE WAR OF THE WORLDS, after the novel by H G Wells, played at Northern Stage in January / February 2018. Following its run at the theatre, the production will tour to North East rural venues and schools.

November 2017: Boundless Theatre

Elayce has joined Boundless Theatre as an Associate Artist. Boundless creates exhilarating, relevant new plays with and for 15-25 year olds and curious others, touring across the UK and internationally.

Elayce has joined the board of SDUK, the professional trade organisation for stage directors across the UK. SDUK represents the interests of stage directors and campaigns for better rights and working conditions.

GIRLS has been selected for presentation in the 2017 British Council Showcase at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where the production will play in the Pleasance Courtyard ahead of a UK tour to:
